1. Geographical location factors

The quotations for steel structure engineering in different cities vary greatly, and the quotations for steel structure engineering in first-tier cities and second-tier and third-tier cities are particularly different. Construction companies need to consider not only the cost of the project, but also the wages of construction workers, engineering safety and other factors. When designing, attention should be paid to geological reports, appropriate foundation types should be selected, and the bearing surface and burial depth of the foundation should be reasonably controlled to effectively reduce costs.
Steel beam design:
Steel beams usually adopt rectangular cross-section, but the material utilization rate of this design is low. In order to improve the material utilization rate, it is possible to consider using a plane truss instead of a rectangular beam. The plane truss design can remove the excess material in the beam, thereby achieving a lighter deadweight and higher material utilization rate, and has better economic benefits.
Column grid design:
The layout of the column grid determines the span and spacing of the columns. If the process permits, a small-span portal frame design should be selected, which is more economical. Generally speaking, the optimal span of the portal frame is 6m to 9m. If a large-tonnage crane is required, the most suitable column spacing is 7m to 9m. When it exceeds 9m, the steel consumption of components such as roof purlins, crane beams and wall frames will increase, and the cost will also increase accordingly.
